Biodiversity enhancement works at Welland Cemetery
We are excited to announce that our Natural Networks funded biodiversity enhancement work at Welland Cemetery (and throughout other sites in the village) has begun!

Work has begun on our Natural Networks funded biodiversity enhancement project at Welland Cemetery!
They may look small now, but over the next few years these whips will grow into a beautiful established hedgerow, full of bird-friendly native hedge species. Thanks to the team at Spring Forward for their help with planting.
Additional bulb planting will also be taking place in certain areas of the village over the coming days. Look out for our information signs informing you about the work that’s being done!
This work has been made possible by a Natural Networks grant, which is funding 70% of the costs of all works being carried out. Thank you to Worcestershire County Council (and Worcestershire Wildlife Trust) for this.
As a result of having to remove the overgrown leylandii trees from the cemetery (due to risks to neighbouring properties), we have wood chippings available for anybody in the village who would like them. These have been piled up on the Spitalfields car park – please help yourselves.
