Community Art Classes are returning!

Following on from the popular 'introduction to drawing and colour' classes in 2024, we are pleased to announce the return of the community art classes. Run by local artist Louise Pilditch, this eight week course will explore their chosen medium in more depth with expert guidance.

Published: 28 January 2025

Welland Community Art Class February to March 2025.

Where: Welland Village Hall.
When: Starting Monday 3rd February, 7pm to 8.30pm and each Monday until 31st March (inclusive). (no class on 3rd March.)
Cost: £48 for the course. Pro rata rates are not available so please ensure you are able to attend all of the classes as there are no refunds. All payments to be made in advance. Please bring your own art materials.

These classes are a follow on from the very popular Drawing and Colour Introduction classes that were introduced in the village during Autumn 2024. The Autumn class is not a prerequisite for the February March class, but this time the tuition will be informal, on an ad hoc, one to one basis. The intention is for each participant to practice and expand their drawing skills, working on projects that interest them, with guidance as required from Louise. Sketching, coloured pencils, watercolours, gouache, pastels and oil pastels are all acceptable. Unfortunately, we can’t allow acrylics and oil paint due to restrictions in the village hall.

To ensure that everyone gets personal tuition and can still enjoy the friendly group dynamic, numbers will be strictly limited to a maximum of 14 people.

To apply for the classes please email Welland’s Community Development Coordinator Barbara Stephens at barbarastephens.cdc@gmail.com
