After many years of outstanding service to Little Malvern and Welland Parish Council, Mick Davies is stepping down from his role as councillor. During his time on the council, Mick has been instrumental in delivering a huge range of projects that have shaped the village we know today – from the development of the play area, outdoor gym and community orchard, to securing funding for speed monitoring signs and leading on the ongoing footpath improvement project. His dedication was also central to the creation and implementation of Welland’s Neighbourhood Plan – a process spanning over a decade that will continue to influence local planning decisions for years to come.
Mick’s contributions to the village don’t end there! He built the village noticeboard, maintained the parish website for many years, takes part in editing and delivering the newsletter, and keeps people up to date via his ‘Welland Watchers emails’. He has been a key member of the events committee who organise the summer fete and winter wassail. He also volunteers with the Pursers Orchard Workers, as well as acting as our local Footpath Warden.
Although Mick is stepping down from the council, we are delighted that he will remain an active volunteer in village life (as well as continuing as Chais of the Parish Hall Committee). On behalf of everyone in Welland, we thank Mick for his years of dedicated service and for everything he continues to do for our village.
