DOG FOULING
HAVE YOUR SAY: MHDC Public Space Protection Order
Consultation closes 14th April
From MHDC:
“We are seeking your views on the renewal of the Dog Control Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in Malvern Hills district. This consultation aims to understand your experiences and gather suggestions to help improve public spaces for everyone.
The current order:
-Requires dog faeces to be cleared up
-Requires appropriate means to pick up dog faeces to be carried
-Prohibits dogs entering fenced-off play areas
-Requires a dog to be placed on a lead, when requested by an authorised officer
The PSPO applies to land open to the air and to which the public are entitled or permitted to have access to with or without payment. Dog poo must be removed immediately.
Our officers carry out regular patrols and will issue a fixed penalty notice if they witness someone committing a dog fouling offence. You can report any breaches of the PSPO to these officers.
The consultation is now open and will close on midnight on 14 April 2025.
Your feedback is important in shaping the future of dog control in our community.”
