Follow-up from Public Meeting regarding Forest of Dean Local Plan (specifically Glynchbrook)

Yesterday's public meeting about the proposed Glynchbrook Development was well attended, with councillors attending from local parishes, District Councillor Christine Wild and County Councillor Tom Wells, and a representative from CPRE.

The Parish Council will be agreeing upon its formal response to the consultation at the next Parish Council meeting (Monday 16th).
We are minded to raise the following concerns:
1.Impact on the character of Welland and neighbouring villages ​
2.Highways & road safety ​
-> including visibility, rural lanes, livestock & impacts on local journeys by existing communities​.
3.Sustainability and Impact on residents’ health and amenity in Welland and neighbouring villages
-> including potential impact of increased traffic flow through Welland. ​
4.Sustainability and Impact on local schools and education, ​viability of education proposals .​
5.Sustainability and Impacts related to healthcare​
-> including emergency services, surgeries, hospitals, care homes and care providers.​
6.Impact on MHNL and its special qualities​
-> including impact on the view from south end of the hills.
7.Impact on local nature and wider environmental impact ​
-> including to protected species and habitats, watercourses; climate considerations including reliance on private car​s.
8.Other sustainability questions
-> including​ water supply, surface and waste water management, ​sewage processing​, flooding​, accessibility – is it meeting real need in the right place for that need?​
9.Incompatibility with National Policy​
10.Incompatibility with other policies in the Plan
