HAVE YOUR SAY on the proposed new 3,500 home development on the edge of our District. (DEADLINE 18th MARCH)
The Forest of Dean District Council is consulting on its proposed Local Plan. Little Malvern and Welland Parish Council is currently in the process of formulating its response to that consultation, especially about the proposed Glynchbrook development by junction 2 of the M50, just 5.5 miles from Welland.
In particular, we will be closely considering the potential impact of the 3,500 new homes and 9ha of offices and employment land planned at Glynchbrook on:
– Our local rural roads and the volume of traffic coming north through Castlemorton and Welland to Malvern and beyond.
– Health and education provision, including potential impacts on our own existing local primary and secondary schools and emergency A&E services.
– The Malvern Hills National Landscape and views from the south end of the Hills.
– Our local common land, local waterways and wildlife, and on issues such as flooding.
We will also be considering the sustainability of the Glynchbrook development with regards to water supply and local infrastructure, and the cumulative impacts it, along with other proposed developments, could have on Welland and our neighbouring villages.
The consultation closes on the 18th March and we urge YOU to have your say!
