Registration of interest: SmartWater theft deterrent scheme in Welland
The Police and Crime Commissioner is offering SmartWater kits at a very significant discount. SmartWater is a water-based solution that contains a unique forensic code that is invisible to the naked eye, but glows yellow-green under UV light, and makes equipment traceable back to its owner. Only a spot the size of a pinhead is needed, and it is guaranteed to last for 5 years. Research shows that SmartWater outperforms all other sorts of deterrent.
The kits contain enough liquid to mark 80-100 items, ‘THIEVES BEWARE’ window labels and ‘THIEVES BEWARE’ tamper-resistant labels. Kits normally cost £59.50, but would be offered at less than £7. However, to take advantage of the discount, we need to have 80% of households in the village signed up.
