A group of young filmmakers recently got the chance to work with an award-winning film director and producer for three days to make their very own movie set in the heart of Welland. They were given the opportunity to work with Nicola Prestage thanks to a successful application by the Parish Council for grant funding from Severn Arts.

The children, aged from 11 to 16, learned the craft of filmmaking, writing, editing and starring in their own film which turned out to be a spooky mystery called “The 150”, centred around St James church which turns 150 this year. The short film premiered at the Welland Cinema Club in April. Nicola commented: “I was blown away by the professional attitude and ideas that came from this group. It really was fantastic to work with them.”
