A reminder to all those using local footpaths
Many of you will have noticed over the last 12 months that some of our footpaths or Public Rights of Way have been given a makeover in order to improve access on foot to and from the village centre. With this in mind, it's the perfect time to remind you of the Countryside Code for responsible use.

Many of you will have noticed over the last 12 months that some of our footpaths or Public Rights of Way have been given a makeover in order to improve access on foot to and from the village centre.
The paths, with all-weather surfaces have opened up walking routes around the village and across the common for all to enjoy.
We are blessed to live in such a beautiful area on the fringe of the Malvern Hills National Landscape and we should be thankful for those unsung heroes who work the natural landscape around us to keep it looking so spectacular.
Our local farmers not only put food on our tables they also manage and preserve the landscapes we all enjoy.
So if you are planning a walk on the common or across the many wonderful ancient rights of way that skirt our village it’s worth remembering these guidelines from the Countryside Code:
1) Stick to the path – a right of way is a linear track not a right to roam at will across open farmland.
2) Control your Dog – keep on a lead or under strict control and be especially vigilant if there are any livestock around.
3) Leave no trace – take all litter (including dog mess) home with you. In fact, if you see someone else’s litter why not clear that up as you go to make the walk all the more enjoyable for the next person.
4) Be considerate – respect Landowners and fellow walkers, do not disturb wildlife or livestock, and leave gates as you find them.
So get out there, walk responsibly and make the most of our wonderful walking environment!
